There could be nothing more relaxing than coming home to a Balinese resort, and this indeed has been the inspiration for this new home from Artique Homes. It is a home design like no other, demonstrating the broad innovation skills of both design and construction of the team at Artique Homes.
The concept of resort-style living takes a different approach to lifestyle, but given the blank canvas Artique Homes had to work with, the design came together seamlessly. The spacious home has clean lines with ingress of natural light maintained at high levels by the provision of verandas to the north, and west and a courtyard to the western park. All external elements have been considered to keep the comfort levels of this energy-efficient home high.
An emphasis on resort-style living has been given in the parents superb master bedroom. While the other four double size bedrooms are upstairs, the master bedroom is on the lower floor with direct access to the plunge pool and gardens. Marble floors and charcoal wall tiles that have been used in the ensuite marry perfectly with the large Balinese bath that affords views to both the pool and the private, serene garden courtyard.
To keep with the open resort style the sizeable chefs kitchen, huge dining and expansive family living room open directly to an alfresco dining area with outdoor BBQ, which is nearby the pool. Other features of this timeless home include a study, a home theatre, activity room, garage, storage, a Fossil Marble fireplace and most beneficially views of the adjacent park.
There has been careful integration of natural materials to achieve a balance of serenity and enhance the understated elegance and timelessness of the home design. Extensive use of natural materials such as Toodyay Stone, granite, marble, timber used correctly, both internally and externally, away from prevailing elements, has ensured minimal long term maintenance and durability and timeless character.
Utilising the environment and external elements, the home has been designed to allow winter sun to reach the marble floors, creating a heat bank, whilst also being able to be opened during the summer to take full advantage of summer breezes with Hilite awning and louver windows. This energy-wise home also encompasses restricted taps and showers in all three bathrooms and other wet areas, as well as incorporating a solar electricity panels, solar hot water, solar roof vents, amongst other energy saving devices.
To ensure compatibility with future technologies the home features smart wiring for all computers, televisions, telephones, music security and more.
